HELLO, IM BACK!!:))
i know many are curious abt how we did, so heres it..
AJC alumni got GOLD for this 21st century International Dance competition.
but we're kinda upset by the fact tt we missed the honours mark by ONE pt..the feeling of 'so near yet so far' sux since we got very good comments from all 5 judges! n not forgetting to add tt they're internationally known p'ple in the dance arena! (Liang Jian Ping, Kun-Yang-lin, Ken Metzer, Ying E Ding & Selina Tan)
Whatever the outcome, i noe we did our best cos i felt tt intensity and passion on stage tt very night of the competition. thinking abt it, it was a great achievement afterall, since we got 5th out of the 22 teams frm all over n a score of 89/100 isnt tt bad for 1 mth worth of practice. Coupled with the numerous obstacles we faced n braved ourselves to overcome eventually, i guess we shld b very proud of ourselves for coming this far :)
thanks to the many for their prayers, support & encouragement too :D
this trip was really quite an experience. the workshops conducted by the various internationally well-known choreographers was an eye opener indeed! dance as an art; dance as a form of communication through body, how true..i tink thats the beauty of dance, it brings this unspeakable joy to p'ple (audience, dancers alike). i especially enjoyed Liang Jian Ping's modern dance workshop! His choreography is DARN GOOD :) kinda remindsme of our ex-aj dance choreographer, ms sylvia yong. but his choreography involves moremoving ard. the aj dancers were the most enthu n hence he liked as the most too :) haha
apart from all tt dancing, how can we miss shopping! got some diesel stuff for darlingn myself cos its much cheaper over there! n on some nights, we'll hang out at first world plaza for kenny rogers, pizza hut, KFC & baskin robins since its juz within our hotelvicinity! i know, its extremely sinful. defeats the purpose of a DANCE trip. hahaha. n ohyea, i finally visited a theme park after SO LONG!we conquered all the more challenging rides..the various rollar coasters were fun! i especially enjoyed the "superman" one..but i had a headache after riding it cos i feltas if i was tossed here n there, and everywhere in a cage! BUT, its undeniably FUN!!:D
despite the several downs we had during the trip (which i din bother to mention), i didnt regret coming for this as i felt we've forged this special bond between the AJ dance family..something much stronger than before :) for the time spent, laughter n tears shed, determination and enthusiasm,i must say that..
im really proud to b part of AJ dance society :) [well done girls, we did it once again!:D]
pictures up soon! (theres really too many!)
yours truly<3
